A brief word about my writing - and how to read it
Writings From A Great Life
The idea of writing has crossed my mind on several occasions, but as I don’t see myself as a writer, the idea scares me a little. Whenever putting a name or label on myself, my craft, my ‘work’, I’ve always felt uncomfortable.
As if naming them destroys what it is, or what I am.
The most comfortable label was calling my work ‘art’ or ‘movement', myself an ‘artist’, and my life ‘creative’.
At the moment of writing these sentences, I am 30 years old. Throughout my 20’s I’ve had numerous jobs which only seem to be connected by curiosity and randomness. I rolled into them. They happened. I have had experiences, some to me, have been very special and have shaped the way I live. I have things I would like to share. But until now I have never openly shared it through writing.
But at this point I allow myself the freedom, instead of writing a proper book, of just writing things down, drawing and scribbling randomly, in the style of my personal notebooks (counting 8 of them, starting in 2018). And this book is a collection of those. I hope you enjoy reading it.
How to read my notes
Just so you know how these words fell down on paper, I’d like you to tell you how I wrote this book, and how it’s best interpreted..
First of all, it’s an unserious book. With that I mean that I try not to restrict myself with following correct rules and framework for properly writing a book or article. I just want to share my insights on paper, accompanied by scribbles, random photos and drawings.
For now there are 4 categories on this blog.
A Good Life
Dancing & Fighting
Animal Connection
Making Art
Just come back here every once in a while to see what thoughts I dared to put out here.
Enjoy.
Hugs,
Sam
